Uninstall Waves Mac

Well, in case you just upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks (like we did ;-) ) and your Waves plugins don't behave as expected a new installation of Waves could make sense, but first things first. A proper uninstallation does not always work entirely well with Waves' uninstaller. So in case something goes wrong, follow these steps for manual uninstallation:

1. Delete the main Waves folder

2. Delete the Waves Preferences folder

located at /Users/Your User/Library/Preferences

3. Delete the Waveshell files from these locations:

/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MAS
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3

4. Empty Trash

Deleting all the left overs of Waves is not that easy, you need to find all the location where Waves has saved the files.
Some of the location where Waves would have saved the files are
~/Library/Preferences/[]
~/Library/Application Support/[]

Recommendation
You should always use the Award winning tool to Uninstall Waves completely from your Mac machine.

Uninstall

located at /Applications.

How To Completely Uninstall Waves Mac

  • Start the Activity monitor to look for the processes running, if you find the Waves application process running then quit it, make sure that Waves processes is not running.
  • Start finder to look for the Waves name.
  • Searching 'Waves' vs 'Contents'
  • Delete all files and folders related to the Waves app.
  • A reboot might be necessary to completely remove some apps.
